As the once mighty king of the hill, the Playstation brand was definitely seen it share of woes this go around in the consoles wars. Not only were sales slightly lower than anticipated for Sony’s PS3 in 2008 due to competitive pricing by the competition but according to the London Times, Sony is preparing to dissolve some of their domestic operations and potentially create a company wide change.
Sony recently announced the cancelling of more than 16,000 jobs. Sony is currently decreasing it’s ground in portable music against the iPod, and Sony Bravia flat planel tv’s aren’t necessarily flying off store shelves either. How does this affect the PS3 you ask, well, enlight of all these changes the big question is can Sony afford a PS3 price drop? My quess, I hope so, we will know soon enough.
