Well, it is what it is and according to IndustryGamers latest clarification from both Microsoft and Sony, the PS3 has managed to shaves 1.4 Million Units off the Xbox 360 marketshare lead in just 6 months.
It turns out that since the Q4 2005 launch of the Xbox 360, Microsoft has sold 44.6 million units worldwide. Sony on the other hand since it’s Q4 2006 launch of the PS3 has sold 41.6 million units worldwide. A difference of only 3 million units, making this console race much closer than expected. IndustryGamers also points out that if the PS3 can continue to sell at a similar pace they believe Sony’s “It Does Everything” console could actually pass by Xbox 360 closer to the beginning of 2012.
