Cross-platform play has now been confirmed for the soon to be available PS4 free to play cooperative shooter Warframe. Digital Extreme creative director Steve Sinclair put his statement of approval on the idea which will allow PS4 and PC gamers to have a seamless Warframe cross-platfrom cooperative experience.
According to Gamingbolt, Sinclair stated that: “Our Goal is cross-platform play. Our goal is updating the PS4 version in sync with the PC version with all the same content, features and events.”
It should also be refreshing to the PS4 hopeful that the PS4 version of Warframe will in no be inferior to its PC cross-platforming counterpart, “The GPU is a beast,” said Sinclair, “and the game looks stellar running on the PS4!”
“The unified memory is part of what makes this console so great to develop on,” Sinclair continues. “You can use threads to generate textures and graphics assets. You can use the GPU to process Physics and effects data.”
Warframe will be a free PS4 launch title ready for action without the requirement the Plus subscription. In addition the PS4 version it has been confirmed will have new factions, new mission types and new events that will be rolled out to coincide with the PS4 release.
