With a budget surpassing $200 million, you would think a game with this much support could maintain a rock solid level of integrity without being compromised. However this is certainly not the case with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. From leaked gameplay to more leaked gameplay, the popularity of the game refuses to allow for a normal release absent of revealed gameplay and scrutiny. Now, even more news has surfaced.
According to a report by Cinemablend revealed through NeoGaf, 4Chan (user) has stumbled upon information inciting that there is also a PS4 and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V within the code. The file makes mention of Orbis (codename for the PS4 dev kits). Interestingly there was no mention of GTAV for the Xbox One.
Now removed, the information revealed upwards of 2000 lines of code. Of course this could all be just a coincidence as this is clearly not a reason to cry victory for the your early PS4 purchase…at the moment. Nevertheless, the question still remains, why would the same GTAV code be written for the PS4.
With the arrival of GTA V releasing tomorrow for the PS3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar Games could be waiting to reveal GTAV for PC and Sony’s next-gen platform, just as soon as it makes sense, nearing the November 15, PS4 release.
We shall see.
