Indie developer Rebellion today launched new downloadable content for the chart-topping Sniper Elite 3, including the first mission of a three part singleplayer campaign; Save Churchill.

Save Churchill: Part 1 – In Shadows is now live on Steam for PC, and was released alongside the new Patriot Weapons Pack and a FREE update featuring a new multiplayer map called Airstrip. The surprise announcement came at the end of a video published on Rebellion’s YouTube channel where team members gave fans a sneak peek at the future of Sniper Elite 3, confirming that all DLC content will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Set after the events of Sniper Elite 3, Save Churchill follows OSS sniper Karl Fairburne in his attempts to uncover and prevent a Nazi assassination attempt on the British Prime Minister in the run up to the famous Casablanca Conference of 1943.

Save Churchill: Part 1 – In Shadows is set in an atmospheric night time re-imagining of the shadowy city of Siwa, but Rebellion’s Head of Creative Tim Jones also promised that the new North African environments in development for parts Two and Three will “blow people away” – including the largest level ever created in the series’ history.

Jones added that Rebellion wanted to offer players who’ve completed Sniper Elite 3’s main campaign “new encounters, new weapons, new unit types … the new missions are going to feel very different.”
