Metal Gear Online Global Championship Announces Tournament Schedule and New Prizes, Kicks Off Dec. 6

Konami has today released the tournament schedule for the official Metal Gear Online Global Championship. Beginning Dec. 6, players will have a chance to compete for ultimate stealth glory and cash prizes. In addition to cash prizes – with a prize pool of $12,000 – teams will also have a chance to win Wired x Seiko “Digiborg” MGSV:TPP Limited Edition Watches and Theotis Beasley Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid V skateboard decks designed by Hydro74 and Baker Skateboards, with the global support of ESL.

Players of Metal Gear Online can still register for weekly online tournaments worldwide, with competitions being held in four regions: North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia/Australia. The global schedule of tournaments is as follows:

  • Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015: Pre-Season Cup #1
  • Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015: Pre-Season Cup #2
  • Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015: Pre-Season Cup #3
  • Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015: Pre-Season Cup #4
  • Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016: Pre-Season Finals

Metal Gear Online – METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain’s competitive multiplayer mode is built around a dedicated squad-based competitive multiplayer structure. The mode has been fully redesigned with the familiar gameplay and aesthetic styling of the series. The online element introduces Tactical Team Operations and features a ‘class system’ that uniquely defines the strengths and abilities of player characters on the battlefield.
