Publisher, Snow Cannon Games, and developer, Sarepta studio, have announced that their award-winning, local co-op adventure, Shadow Puppeteer, will release on Wii U January 28.
In Shadow Puppeteer, players assume the roles of a boy and his shadow, separated from one another by the evil shadow puppeteer. Players must work together to manipulate light, solving puzzles that bring them closer to finding this villain and freeing the other shadows he has stolen.
Shadow Puppeteer, which is winner of the 2015 Indie Prize Director’s Choice Award has been applauded for its stunning art, enchanting music and clever puzzles.
“What makes a local co-op game great is when both characters have active and meaningful roles in the game’s progression,” said Catharina Bøhler, CEO of Sarepta studio. “We spent an enormous amount of time ensuring this was the case with Shadow Puppeteer. Judging from the community’s response when we merely announced the game was coming to Wii U, we think people see the appeal of co-op in Shadow Puppeteer and are really excited to start playing. It’s a humbling experience.”
“We’re thrilled to help Sarepta studio bring Shadow Puppeteer to Wii U,” said Espen Askvik, CEO of Snow Cannon Games. “Shadow Puppeteer is the type of game we feel the Wii U community is craving: a truly engaging co-op adventure that can be enjoyed on the couch with friends, children or significant others. We’re looking forward to hearing what the Nintendo community thinks after playing the game in a few weeks.”
