Over the past 24 hours, retailers have been slashing the prices on Xbox bundles as they gear up to a busy period of big game releases in Europe. The beginning of 2016 hasn’t seen much in the way of releases for the Xbox One, with Far Cry Primal arguably the biggest game so far.
However, the coming months see the release of a host of highly anticipated games on Xbox One, including The Division, Hitman, Sheltered, UFC 2, Trackmania Turbo, Quantum Break, Dark Souls III and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. In preparation for the bumper release schedule, retail giants such as Amazon, Game, Microsoft, PC World, Smyths Toys and Very have slashed prices across a number of Xbox bundles, reducing costs on console bundles to as little as £249.99. Hopefully these Xbox One bundle deals make their way to the US.
Currently, the pick of the deals has to be GAME’s offering of an Xbox One with Tom Clancy’s The Division. Officially, the lowest price seen on an Xbox bundle deal was in December 2015. Back then, retailers were offering an Xbox with Rare Replay + Ori and the Blind Forest for £219.99.
How Sony will respond to the sudden price drop from their long-term rivals remains to be seen, but if history continues to repeat, then PlayStation fans could also be seeing a price reduction in the near future.
