While there were an attractive dose of games on tap at PAX West (Horizon Zero Dawn was insane by the way), if there was one upcoming game that stood out which many people aren’t yet talking about, it would have to be Serial Cleaner from developer and publisher iFun4All. This is an indie title that I can’t wait to play. It was funny and wild, packing some cool stealth design within an awesome theme.
Serial Cleaner is a story-driven, fast-paced stealth/action game, characterized by a 1970s theme and aesthetics. The protagonist literally cleans up murder scenes by disposing bodies, covering up blood stains and hiding murder weapons and other incriminating evidence.
Exploring, experimenting and fast paced decision making are the key words here. Getting caught and questioned would put a black mark on the protagonist’s career and the environment is often crawling with itchy-fingered police officers accompanied by nosy bystanders. The game uses Real-World Data to modify gameplay according to the time of day in player’s location.
Serial Cleaner takes a humoristic, slightly macabre approach to its subject matter, and doesn’t treat itself too seriously. The games star a protagonist, in his 30’s with a sharp sense of style and an iconic 70s look, complete with a moustache, large sunglasses, and tight pants. Totally cool!
At the moment Serial Cleaner is in development for PC and has no set launch date. We’ll be keeping our eyes on this one as updates come in.
