If you have yet learned, the development of Scalebound, which was being created by Platinum Games alongside the assistance of Microsoft Studios has unfortunately been cancelled. According to reports the decision to cancel the project came down to a business decision resulting in Platinum Games and Microsoft going their separate ways.
Scalebound was set to make a splash sometime this year in an effort to align the Xbox One with an exclusive new IP offering a fast paced action-packed experience with up to 4-players.
With the exit of Scalebound, Microsoft’s exclusive 2017 lineup is said to still be in tact as games like “Halo Wars 2,” “Crackdown 3,” “State of Decay 2,” and “Sea of Thieves” have all been announced to grace the Xbox One and Windows 10 formats sometime in 2017.
In the meantime, developer Platinum Games are still full steam ahead with the launch of their upcoming 3rd person action title NieR: Automata arriving March 7, 2017 for PS4. A demo for the game is currently available via the PlayStation Store. For more on NieR: Automata read our full written demo impression.
