After completing our exhilarating 68 hour journey of discovery within the universe of Horizon Zero Dawn, we have been filled with exciting speculation on where and how Guerrilla Games plans to move Aloy’s story forward. Thankfully, based on the latest software sales update for the game, Guerrilla Games Managing Director Hermen Hulst has all but confirmed that a sequel was already in the works.
“We’re thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development,” said Guerrilla Managing Director Hermen Hulst. “This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.”
With 2.6 million copies sold in the first two weeks, a sequel is more than likely already greenlit. However, we would certainly be more than interested in the idea of a possible DLC expansion to further wet our appetite before a much deserved sequel.
