PAST CURE: Action Stealth Thriller Wins People’s Choice Award at Game Connection Europe

It has been a successful night for Phantom 8 Studio and their game PAST CURE at Game Connection Europe in Paris. The action stealth thriller won the open vote against 22 other contestants, and received the People’s Choice Award. PAST CURE is currently being developed by an international team of eight and will be released worldwide for PC and console on February 2, 2018.

The awards received at Game Connection are not the first honors for the Berlin-based indie studio. Just a few weeks ago, PAST CURE won the award for Best Storytelling at White Nights Moscow, the renowned developers’ conference. It was also nominated for the gamescom Indie Award earlier this year. This means that Phantom 8 has picked up the first laurels for its debut game well in advance of its release.

What PAST CURE is about…

With PAST CURE, indie developer Phantom 8 Studio has combined challenging stealth missions and real-time action sequences. In the world of PAST CURE, two dimensions offer two different realities – the waking world and nightmare. After years of being tortured in dark prisons across Europe, former elite soldier Ian lives in his brother’s safehouse, struggling with the consequences of the military experiments he was put through. They twisted his mind; imbued him with preternatural mental abilities such as time manipulation and telekinesis, and fractured his grip on reality.

Driven by hallucinations and his thirst for revenge, Ian enlists his brother’s help and sets out on a thrilling hunt; both for the perpetrators of the conspiracy against him and for the truth underlying his torment. During the course of his mission Ian experiments with his new powers, quickly coming to realize their inherent danger – with each use, his sanity frays a little more, drawing the nightmarish attention of something beyond reality. In pursuit of the men behind his imprisonment, Ian soon realizes that his true enemy may be hiding within his own madness.

PAST CURE will be released worldwide on February 2, 2018 on PS4, Xbox One and PC for €29.99/$29.99.
