According to VGChartz, Sony’s first party published racing simulation, Gran Turismo Sport has sold a whopping 982,360 units in only its first week at retail. Adding to the fact that these number do not account for the digital sales, developer Polyphony Digital it seems has another racing hit on their hands. While the games current Metacritic score sits at 76, which is a solid average, the games retail results are estimated through the week ending October 21st.
Looking at VGChartz regional breakdown of GT Sport, Europe grabbed the lionshare with 528,456 units sold at 54%, followed by the US with 162,336 units sold 17% and 148,613 units sold in Japan at 15%. VGChartz also looks closer at the European sales, which you can viewed here.
