Who said single-player games don’t sell well?
Two years ago Guerrilla Games set out to launch the unthinkable, as a developer widely known for crafting linear first person shooters, namely Killzone (a series quite dear to my heart). Horizon Zero Dawn, an ambitious action-RPG title with a bizarre narrative composition, leveraged by a young and unknown female protagonist, who I might add was equipped with various bows and arrows, amidst robotic apex dinosaurs; what in the world was developer Guerrilla Games thinking?
When it all came together Horizon Zero Dawn delivered one of this generations most epic adventures. One you will not soon forget. Very seldom do we praise a game with a score of a perfect 10, however the adventure of Aloy was nothing short of breathtaking.
In a nutshell, Horizon Zero Dawn propelled Guerrilla Games into the upper echelon of the development community as one of today’s most recognized development studios. According to the studios managing director Herman Hulst; “We recently crossed the 10 million copies sold worldwide; the idea that we were able to bring Aloy’s journey to so many players is astounding. We’ve been deeply moved by the enormous amount of fan creations you’ve posted online, as well as the heartfelt letters you’ve sent sharing your favourite moments from Aloy’s journey.”
Congratulations to Guerrilla Games for reaching an incredible milestone with Horizon Zero Dawn, we can’t wait to experience Aloy’s next bold adventure.
