Microsoft has announced an exciting campaign with their charity partner, Right To Play, an international children’s sport and play charity. The Xbox “Summer Stadium” campaign runs from 15 June until 12 August 2012, and is set to be a huge online event, bringing Europe together to go the extra mile and raise funds for a great cause. The campaign’s goal is to give over 10,000 children worldwide access to Right To Play’s sport and play programming. High profile Right To Play Athlete Ambassadors such as NBA star, José Calderón, and track and field athlete, Lauryn Williams, are lending their voices in support.
On the weekend of 15-18 June 2012, Xbox is providing free access to its Xbox LIVE Gold subscription service and will be holding a European 100m Kinect Sports charity run for all online participants. Xbox will be looking to beat last year’s Guinness World Record for the most people running an online 100m dash at one time. For every person who takes part on 16 June, Xbox will donate funds to the charity to achieve the goal of providing 10,000 children with access to sport and play activities. These contributions will enable Right To Play to use the transformative power of play to educate and empower children facing adversity.
The donation site will go live on 15 June 2012, full details on how to donate and take part on the Guinness World Record Attempt on 16 June can be found at www.xbox.com/right-to-play.
