Jack Tretton Sony CEO and President Stepping Down

With more than enough momentum at the moment for any manufacturer after the recent launch of their latest and greatest gaming hardware, you would think most CEO’s would be destined to ride out the glory years. Well, that is not always the case as Jack Tretton CEO and President of Sony Computer Entertainment America has just released a message to the Playstation Nation that as of March 31 he will no longer maintain his coveted position.
Do understand that Jack Tretton is no newcomer to this industry, in fact for 19 years Jack Tretton has greatly assisted in helping Sony establish the Playstation brand. Jack was there during the golden age of the PS2, Jack was also one of the key influences during the PS3 era who helped re-shape the ideology of the PS3 in the US and Jack was also the deathblow just last year at E3 delivering a memorable PS4 welcome after exposing Microsoft’s unkind DRM restrictions which many believe was the greatest maneuver by Sony to establish the PS4′s current dominance for this next generation of gaming.
Always smiling with unflinching respect and trust for Sony’s first, second and third party studios partners, those will be some very huge shoes to fill and we will certainly be missing Mr. Jack Tretton. Head on over to the Playstation Blog to read “A Message From Jack Tretton”.
